Challenges

Danis led, and Claypool Electric contributed to, a total value management (TVM) process to identify cost over-runs and opportunities for savings through the design completion. During a period of extreme supply chain disruptions, Claypool Electric was able to source materials without detrimental impact to the overall project.

Outcome

Claypool Electric has played an integral role in the successful BIM coordination effort despite challenging above-ceiling installations.

Highlights

Claypool Electric proposed several cost savings ideas that reduced the impact of material escalation including:

• Simplified power distribution scheme
• Alternate lighting layouts and manufacturers
• Reduction in branch circuitry, surface raceway and wiring devices
• Reduction in low-voltage rough-in costs — both in-wall and above-ceiling
