The cutting-edge Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts brings all of Denison’s performing arts functions under a single roof in the 108,000-square-foot facility.
The Sharon Martin Hall performance theater provides seating for 400 along with an expansive dressing room that includes 30 makeup stations and dedicated space for costume storage. The Center also includes rehearsal areas that mirror the size and scale of the performance stage.
The Thorsen Dance Studio boasts an advanced dance floor system with radiant heating. And the existing Burke Recital Hall was blended with the new center and now offers an adjacent rehearsal room, piano lab and multi-purpose class room.
Challenges
This one of the largest construction projects that the University has undertaken in recent years. Extensive changes to the scope were made throughout the construction schedule which added to the complexity of the project.
Outcome
Our clients are happy and the Performing Arts Center has been very well received by Denison University and the Granville community.
Highlights
This was an extensive project that spanned nearly two years. The work required a large commitment of resources, including more than 40 Claypool associates on site during key points of the project.
