Claypool Electric worked with Otterbein University to upgrade the lighting throughout The Rike Center. The domed-roof facility encloses an intercollegiate wood basketball floor with seating for 3,100 spectators; nets and space to segment three courts for volleyball, tennis or basketball; and a tenth-mile oval track.
Challenges
The project included the replacement of high-bay lighting for the indoor game court and practice court. Claypool Electric provided in-house luminaire selection and modeling of the courts to confirm the prescribed illumination levels, including critical broadcast minimums for the game court.
Claypool Electric also implemented new network wireless lighting controls for energy management, remote scheduling and data tracking.
