In support of Denison University’s goal of increased sustainability, Claypool Electric partnered with Third Sun Solar to design and construct a 2.3-megawatt photovoltaic solar facility for AEP Energy. The project scope included the installation of 6,750 panels, 75 inverters, 1.5 miles of underground duct bank and a 15KV tie-in with associated distribution equipment, transformers and metering.
Outcome
Denison University currently receives 15% of its energy from solar energy, and they have reduced their carbon footprint by 10%. This continues to be the largest solar array at the University.
